Academy School District 20 is the largest school district in North Colorado Springs and spans the major communities there including Rockrimmon, Briargate, Pine Creek, Northgate, and Cordera. It was named after the United States Air Force Academy because, at its inception in 1957, the only schools within the district were actually located on the Academy property. Today, ASD20 has grown to have 34 schools and three charter schools and is regularly ranked as one of the top school districts in Colorado.
